CALL TO WORSHIP

Jesus said, “Come to me, all who are weary and I will give you rest.”

We come weary.

Jesus said, “In my Father’s house are many rooms; if it were not so, would I have told you that I go to prepare a place for you?”

We come searching for our place.

Come, worship the Christ who gives new life to the world-weary. Come and find the space reserved for you.

Come, let us worship with hope!

PRAYERS AND OFFERING

OFFERTORY PRAYER:

In gratitude for all that we have been given, we give our gifts to thee, O God. May what we give bring comfort to one who is sorrowful, food to one who is hungry, kindness to one who is world-weary, warmth to one who lives without shelter, and hope to those who long for the touch of your mercy. We know our gifts make this possible for in our giving, we give ourselves—through Christ our Lord, whomakes all things possible. Amen.

PRAYERS OF THE PEOPLE

PASTORAL PRAYER

In these moments of stillness as we gather our hearts for prayer, we confess that we don’t always come with confidence to our time of prayer. Our petitions lack audacity—and fear and doubt create holes in the fabric of our certainty and hope. Give us a glimpse of the possible as we still our minds to make room for you, O God. Grant us the courage to reach out and just brush our hands gently against your cloak. Open our hearts in this silent space…that we might hear your voice say, “Do not fear, only believe.” Amen.
