Leader: We gather together as God’s people in a world divided and distressed.
All: Yet we gather as one people, united by God.
Leader: We gather as God’s people, journeying to Jerusalem.
All: Yet we gather as one people, steadfastly traveling forward together.
Leader: We gather as God’s people, frightened by whirlpools of worry which spin us out of control.
All: Yet we gather as one people following in the unfailing footsteps of Jesus the Christ, whose name we praise.

AFFIRMATION OF FAITH—LENT
We believe in one God who created us and loves us, still and all.
We believe in Jesus Christ who leads us and calls us to follow.
We believe in the Holy Spirit, present to us in our challenges and changes.
We believe we are the church, called to bring solace to the troubled, hope to the hopeless and love to the lonely.
We believe in the power of prayer, which enables us to live a life of love and service in the grace of God. Amen.
