ANNOUNCEMENTS:

PRELUDE: Quiet your thoughts of the world and be in worship. Patty Bell

*PRAISE MUSIC: “Stand Up, Stand Up for Jesus” UMH 514

LITANY:

Leader: Creator God, you have blessed each of us with gifts, the variety of talents that make up the body of Christ, enabling us to do your work here in this place and time.

People: Instill in us the desire to use our gifts to the best of our ability to serve you.

Leader: Loving God, we stand before you as people of varying financial means. Help us to be thankful and content with whatever we have, instead of wishing for more.

People: Instill in us a desire to give generously out of whatever we have, trusting that you will always provide.

Leader: Compassionate God; help us order the time in our days and weeks so it becomes a priority to find ways to regularly serve your people.

People: Instill in us the desire to give freely of our time to others so our lives are ordered by your priorities, not ours.

Leader: Almighty God, you sent your Son, Jesus, not only to save us from our sins but to model a life of obedience and service. So often, we let our priorities outweigh your priorities.

People: Instill in us the desire to be obedient and to actively watch for opportunities to be you hands and feet in the world.

All: Amen.

HYMN: “Immortal, Invisible God Only Wise” UMH 103

PSALM: 91: 1-6, 14-16:

You who live in the shelter of the Most High, who abide in the shadow of the Almighty, will say to the Lord, “My refuge and my fortress: my God in whom I trust.” For he will deliver you from the snare of the fowler and from the deadly pestilence; he will cover you with his pinions, and under his wings you will find refuge; his faithfulness is a shield and buckler. You will not fear the terror of the night, or the arrow that flies by day, or the pestilence that stalks in darkness, or the destruction that wastes at noonday.

Those who love me; I will deliver; I will protect those who know my name. When they call to me, I will answer them; I will be with them in trouble, I will rescue them, and show them my salvation.
